Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering Prepares for next generation with New Investor and Chairman


Royston, England, 9th August 2010. Aerospace Component Manufacturer, Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering today announces that it has been acquired by the specialist turnaround investment company, Privet Capital.

The backing of Privet Capital will allow Thermal to efficiently scale-up its services as a key manufacturer of titanium and nickel alloy components for both current and next generation engines and airframes.

Stephen Ireland, Managing Director of Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering, commented:

“This is an exciting time for us. We are putting in place the processes and personnel to scale up our production lines for fabricated assemblies in nickel and titanium alloys.. This will support our customers who are building key components of the latest generation of regional and military aircraft as well as commercial jets such as the A350 and Boeing 787”

As part of its development plan, Thermal has signed a new long-term agreement with its largest customer – a major engine provider. The company has already started to introduce new programs that will lead to increased efficiency in its production facility and strengthening the management team including the appointment of Vardhan Rajkumar as Chairman. Vardhan has significant manufacturing experience including most recently as Director of telecoms engineering company Trylon TSF.

Thermal was founded in 1988 and operates from an assembly and manufacturing facility in Royston, Hertfordshire, employing 200 people with a turnover of £10m. The Company manufactures specialist components for the aerospace industry world-wide, primarily for aircraft engines, and is one of only a few organisations with specialist expertise in the field of hot forming complex metal components, along with fabrication of assemblies. It also manufactures thermal insulation and protection for aircraft. Its clients include leading engine manufacturers and aerospace firms.
