Although Thermal Engineering has a comparatively short history - the company was launched in 1988 - both its founders and its current management team have a long and distinguished record within the aerospace industry. It has retained its independence at a time when many of its competitors have been absorbed into bigger groups, and this has helped give the company a flexibility of operation, and the ability to provide a personal services from which customers can in turn benefit.

Thermal Engineering plc currently has a £10 million turnover and customers including Rolls Royce, Short Brothers and BAE Systems. Having established a strong British base, the company is now looking to expand into the wider global market by offering customised products and solutions matched by the same superior standards of service and project management.
The company is based at a 70,000 square foot assembly and manufacturing site just outside Royston in Hertfordshire and is a member of the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) and the Eastern Aerospace Alliance.
